Poker Pro Liv Boeree To Appear In New Discovery Channel Television Show

British poker pro Liv Boeree is set to be featured in a new show on the Discovery Channel. The program, which so far has 10 30-minute episodes, will begin airing next month.

The show is called “The Mind Control Freaks”. In it, four experts demonstrate how psychological techniques from hypnosis to peer pressure, conformity and obedience to authority can influence people. In addition to Boeree, Alexis Conran from “The Real Hustle”, hypnotist Lewis Le Val and sleight-of-hand expert Pete Wardell will serve as “presenters.”

“The Mind Control Freaks is an exciting new series for us which plays in a new space for Discovery Channel,” Sarah Davies, an executive for Discovery Networks International, said.

“We’ve been exploring the reinvention and fusion of genres with a lot of success — and The Mind Control Freaks is set to take that to the next level as we blur the lines between science, psychology and trickery in an all-new format. We can’t wait to see how audiences react to this thought-provoking and entertaining series.”

The show will air globally — in 224 countries to be precise.

Boeree, a tournament player with around $2.4 million in earnings, is endorsed by PokerStars.
