Card Player Poker Tour: Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Kicks Off March 21

A fourth Card Player Poker Tour Season II champion will be crowned March 30 at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada when the final cards are dealt in the $1,100 no-limit hold’em $125,000 guarantee main event.

The 19-tournament series will begin March 21 with a $340 no-limit hold’em $50,000 guarantee and wrap up with a $120 no-limit hold’em turbo March 30. Satellites to the main event will begin March 20.

Throughout the series players can chose from a variety of tournament styles and games including limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better and no-limit hold’em turbos, survivors and bounties.

“Players can expect generous structures allowing for a lot of play. This is one of the reasons many traveling tournament players return to our events year after year,” said Tournament Director Keith Dames, “Our unique tournament setting offers beautiful views of the snow capped Sierra Nevada Mountains and the timing of our event allows for betting on all the late-March college basketball action.”

Last year John Miner scored upwards of $45,000 when he took down the main event during the tour’s inaugural stop at the Reno resort.

“Atlantis Casino Resort Spa is very excited to host the CPPT tour this March,” said Publicist Tracie Barnthouse. “The tour brings some of the very best poker play and passionate fans. We look forward to hosting the tournament and expect a fantastic crowd.”

When players are not participating in the CPPT tournaments they can enjoy plenty of other casino action Atlantis has to offer.

“Aside from the exciting play, there’s no better place than Atlantis to host a CPPT tournament,” Barnthouse said. “Our casino floor is always packed, and our machines are red hot – a guest hit a $3.89 million jackpot in February, and Money Maker, Reno’s longest-running casino wide progressive that starts at $20,000 and is guaranteed to hit by $50,000, continues to pay out big. Atlantis has awarded over $5.9 million in progressives.”

The day before the main event begins, March 27, players can treat themselves to a Spirited Wine Dinner complete with wines from Frank Family Vineyards. The six-course meal includes Maine lobster, Kobe steak and more, perfectly paired with Frank Family wines. Reservations are encouraged at 775-824-4411.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa is Reno’s newest AAA Four Diamond resort situated at the base of the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains and conveniently located in the heart of Reno’s entertainment district.
